The Vice President of Data Science will play a critical executive leadership role in shaping and executing the organization’s data science and AI strategy. This individual will oversee the development of scalable machine learning models, advanced analytics capabilities, and enterprise data solutions that drive business outcomes and innovation.
This role requires a visionary leader who can combine technical expertise, strategic thinking, and organizational leadership to build high-performing data science teams and deliver measurable impact across the enterprise. You will work closely with executive leadership, engineering, product, and business teams to ensure that data science initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities, customer needs, and long-term growth objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise data science and AI strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead development and deployment of machine learning models, predictive analytics, and AI-driven solutions.
- Oversee large-scale data science teams across multiple regions and business units.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build and scale data pipelines, ML infrastructure, and model deployment frameworks.
- Drive innovation in areas such as Generative AI, deep learning, and advanced analytics.
- Establish best practices for model development, validation, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with business leaders to translate data insights into strategic decisions and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
- Monitor performance of data science initiatives through KPIs, ROI analysis, and impact metrics.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading large-scale data science organizations and enterprise AI initiatives.
- Strong expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and AI technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Experience with big data technologies, including Spark, Hadoop, and distributed systems.
