The Director of E-commerce will serve as a senior digital commerce leader responsible for overseeing end-to-end online business performance, digital revenue strategy, platform optimization, customer acquisition, conversion rate optimization, and global e-commerce expansion initiatives.
This role requires a highly strategic and commercially driven leader with deep expertise in e-commerce operations, digital growth strategy, performance marketing, UX optimization, marketplace management, and AI-enabled retail analytics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
E-commerce Strategy & Digital Growth Leadership
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide e-commerce strategies aligned with global revenue growth and digital transformation objectives.
- Lead digital commerce operations across web, mobile, marketplace, and omnichannel retail platforms.
- Define and optimize end-to-end customer journey strategies to maximize acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Drive global online revenue growth through scalable digital commerce frameworks and performance optimization initiatives.
Revenue Optimization & Performance Management
- Oversee e-commerce KPIs, including conversion rates, AOV, traffic acquisition, customer lifetime value, and retention metrics.
- Develop and implement revenue acceleration strategies using data-driven insights and AI-powered analytics tools.
- Optimize pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and product merchandising across digital platforms.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance online sales performance and profitability.
Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition
- Collaborate with performance marketing teams to drive paid media, SEO/SEM, affiliate, and social commerce strategies.
- Lead customer acquisition and retention programs across global digital channels.
- Optimize omnichannel marketing integration across email, mobile, social, and marketplace ecosystems.
- Enhance brand visibility and digital engagement through targeted content and personalized experiences.
Platform Optimization & UX Enhancement
- Oversee e-commerce platform performance, UX/UI optimization, and digital experience improvements.
- Collaborate with product and technology teams to enhance website performance, scalability, and system reliability.
- Implement A/B testing, personalization engines, and AI-driven recommendation systems.
- Ensure seamless customer experience across all digital touchpoints and devices.
Marketplace & Omnichannel Expansion
- Manage relationships with third-party marketplaces and global retail platforms.
- Expand digital commerce presence across new geographic markets and emerging channels.
- Develop omnichannel strategies integrating online, offline, and mobile commerce ecosystems.
- Ensure consistent brand experience across all customer interaction points.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor e-commerce managers, digital analysts, UX specialists, and growth marketing teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Experience teams.
- Drive alignment between commercial strategy, operational execution, and digital infrastructure.
- Support executive leadership with e-commerce forecasting, performance insights, and strategic recommendations.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-commerce, Digital Media, or related discipline required.
- MBA or advanced executive education strongly preferred.
- 10–15+ years of experience in e-commerce management, digital commerce leadership, online retail strategy, or omnichannel growth roles.
- Proven success within global e-commerce, retail technology, digital marketplaces, or consumer technology organizations.
- Strong experience with e-commerce platforms, analytics tools, CRM systems, and digital marketing technologies.
- Expertise in conversion rate optimization, customer journey design, and performance-driven growth strategies.
- Experience managing large-scale digital revenue portfolios in high-growth environments preferred.
